Jeffrey Hatcher's play Murderers will run from November 8 through December 22, 2007 in City Theatre's 111-seat Lester Hamburg Studio. Directed by Michael Bush, this kooky comedy is set in the Riddle Key Luxury Senior Retirement Living Center and Golf Course in Florida.

First we meet fortysomething Gerald (Daniel Krell), who in a family scheme to get out of paying capital gains tax is living on Riddle Key with Spiff, his girlfriend's mother. Gerald thinks his time in Florida is going to be spent watching Murder She Wrote reruns and having dinner at 5 pm. But when Spiff meets 87-year-old Shirl and her much-younger husband (who might be a naughty gigolo), wild things start happening.
The next to tell her story is Lucy (Jennifer Harmon), a pert 78-year-old. Things are OK for Lucy and her husband Bob on Riddle Key—that is until Lucy sees Margaret Faydle at the New Members Hut. Margaret has had husbands die and divorce her but she always ends up on her feet—and in very nice shoes. When Lucy finds a bottle of Viagra hidden in Bob's golf bag, it just might end up being a prescription for revenge.
Lastly we hear from Minka (Sheila McKenna), who not only works in the Member's Office, but turns out to be the villa's vigilante. In a play called Murderers, it's no mystery what will happen to anyone who messes with her Riddle Key residents!
The design team for Murderers is Tony Ferrieri (Scenic), C.T. Steele (Costumes), Traci Klainer (Lighting), and Elizabeth Atkinson (Sound).
Playwright Jeffrey Hatcher is a favorite of City Theatre's audience. His work here includes last year's hit A Picasso as well as Tuesdays with Morrie (with Mitch Albom), Worksong (with Eric Simonson), Mercy of a Storm, and Compleat Female Stage Beauty. Director Michael Bush, a 25-year veteran of Manhattan Theatre Club, recently became Artistic Director at the Emelin Theatre in New York.
