City Theatre is committed to providing an environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all patrons. If you have questions regarding any of our Access Services, please contact our Box Office at 412.431.CITY.
The entrance to City Theatre’s main building is ramped. There are accessible payphones, water fountains, and restrooms available. An elevator allows patrons to reach the Mainstage theatre space where accessible seating is available on a limited basis (with the option for companion seating).
A level concrete walkway leads to the Lester Hamburg Studio Theatre where floor-level seating is available (with the option for companion seating).
We strongly recommend that when reserving tickets you identify any special seating needs to our Box Office staff.
Selected performances of each City Theatre production feature Audio Descriptions for those who are blind or visually impaired and Open Captioning for those who are deaf or hearing-impaired.
- During Open Captioned performances all dialogue and sound effects will be presented in real-time on a three-foot-long LED screen that is adjacent to the stage.
- During Audio Described performances all action and physical appearances will be described live through a headset.
